Circuit Electronic Simulation
Introduction to Device Modeling and Circuit Simulation by Tor A. Fjeldly, A detailed guide to SPICE-oriented design and testing of electronic devices SPICE allows engineers to simulate individual semiconductor devices and electronic circuits and to perform the large number of different analyses needed for tasks such as verification of circuit designs and prediction of circuit performance. However, these simulations are only as good as the device models and parameters used in the simulations. Wrong models yield unreliable results. Introduction to Device Modeling and Circuit Simulation links electronic device modeling to simulation of these devices using the SPICE program. Ideal as a reference for professional engineers or as a text for courses in semiconductor device modeling, it presentsA combination of background device physics and technologyA review of existing device modelsA set of new and improved models compatible with the most advanced technologyDescriptions of device models and examples of circuit simulationsFollowing an introduction to SPICE, this book covers charge transport in semiconductors, two-terminal devices, bipolar junction transistors, field effect transistors, and advanced FET modeling. With its concentration on modeling and simulation, Introduction to Device Modeling and Circuit Simulation is the core book on SPICE-oriented semiconductor device modeling.
The Spice Book by Andre Vladimirescu, This new book, written by Andre Vladimirescu, who was instrumental in the development of SPICE at the University of California Berkeley, introduces computer simulation of electrical and electronics circuits based on the SPICE standard. Relying on the functionality first supported in SPICE2 that is now supported in all SPICE programs, this text is addressed to all users of electrical simulation. The approach to learning circuit simulation is to interpret simulation results in relation to electrical engineering fundamentals; the book asks the student to solve most circuit examples by hand before verifying the results with SPICE. Addressed to both the SPICE novice and the experienced user, the first six chapters provide the relevant information on SPICE functionality for the analysis of linear as well as nonlinear circuits. Each of these chapters starts out with a linear example accessible to any new user of SPICE and proceeds with nonlinear transistor circuits. The latter part of the book goes into more detail on such issues as functional and hierarchical models, distortion analysis, basic algorithms in SPICE and related options parameters, and, how to direct SPICE to find a solution when it does not converge to a solution. The approach emphasizes that SPICE is not a substitute for knowledge of circuit operation but a complement. The SPICE Book is different from previously published books in the approach of solving circuit problems with a computer. The solution to most circuit examples is sketched out by hand first and followed by a SPICE verification. For more complex circuits it is not feasible to find the solution by hand but the approach stresses the need for the SPICE user tounderstand the results. Readers gain a better comprehension of SPICE thanks to the importance placed on the relation between EE fundamentals and computer simulation. The tutorial approach advances from the hand solution of a circuit to SPICE verification and simulation results interpretation.
ICAP/4 - ICAP/4 is a family of commercial SPICE analog circuit simulation software developed and sold by Intusoft for use on personal computers. It is Intusoft's fourth generation analog and mixed signal circuit simulation package and is used in electronic design automation. Electronic component - An electronic component is a basic electronic building block packaged in a discrete form with two or more connecting leads or metallic pads. The components are intended to be connected together, usually by soldering to a printed circuit board, to create an electronic circuit with a particular function (for example an amplifier, radio receiver, or oscillator). Circuit design - Circuit design is the process of working out the physical form that an electronic circuit will take, physical form includes the choice of method of construction as well as all the parts and materials to be used. It also covers the choice of what electronic components will be used and the physical layout they are to take. Jabil Circuit - Jabil Circuit Inc is a provider of electronic manufacturing services. Jabil designs and manufactures electronic circuit boards and for major OEMs in a diverse group of industries including automotive, computing and storage, consumer products, medical, networking, peripherals and telecommunications.
